About me
Hi, I'm Tom, I have around 9 years development experience. My developer journey started as a hobby and I'm now lucky enough to be getting paid for it! I currently work on builds and maintenance for a broad range of clients.
I started coding professionally in 2017 at Element 78 as a Frontend Developer, improving the skills I'd been teaching myself whilst coding as a hobby. I love taking the Design and UX Team's ideas to create solutions that make our clients shine.
Whilst on the Frontend Team, I became more and more involved in the Javascript side of FE development and have grown a real passion for the more programatic side of coding. In 2021 I switched to the Backend Team where I have been developing my skills in C#, .Net and creating great Content Editor experiences with Umbraco CMS.

About this site
I built my previous site back when I was still trying to get my first professional role and it was long overdue a refresh! This page is just a static placeholder while I work on the main build.
For my rebuild, I've been wanting to experiment with creating an Umbraco back end with an Angular front end for a while. While this will be complete overkill for what I need, it's fun to play. Check out the code for this site or the progress on the new build on git hub.
Also, incase it wasn't obvious, I'm a big fan of The Bauhaus and De Stijl movements.
